Sunday 2nd October

After the long day yesterday, we had another lazy day relaxing at the pool.  It’s really very nice and the waiters come round with cold flannels to cool you down then some beautiful fresh fruit skewers – very civilised indeed!!

At lunchtime we visited the local café with Suzie and her mum and Mr and Mrs KV-Explorer.  The staff were just delighted to see us all trooping in, but it was the same scenario again with the food.  These small local places are just not stocking up with food, which I suppose makes sense as they won’t want anything going to waste, and they won’t want to be spending money if they’re not making any.

At night though, before dinner, Suzie, her mum and I decided to visit Luxor Temple as the sun was setting.  It’s really magical at this time and you can watch the sky changing colour through various blues to inky black and, at the same time, the light that illuminate the temple come on, and it’s all just so wonderful.   This is a little selection of photos that I took.

There is more to see here than there was during my last visit – they have displayed lots of artefacts that have been uncovered during the excavations on of the Avenue of Sphinxes, which are also illuminated.

It was then on to Puddleduck for dinner once again, and then, well, you know the routine by now, don’t you??
